Maybe Sin Is Not An Actual Thing Posted in: Perfection in Seeming Imperfection, Suffering and an all-powerful benevolent God
Maybe sin is not an actual thing.
More a way of explaining why we are here, and at the same time not blaming God for the suffering of the world.
Needed by those who doubt good reason for God’s creation.
An attempt to distance God from what appears to be unworthy … incompatible with an all-beautiful, all-perfect, all-powerful God.
Personally, given (my) conviction that not a blade of grass moves without the sanction of the Lord, I find the ‘sin’ explanation fails to convincingly separate the situation here from God.
Perhaps it is time to look again at the way I see the world … beyond the piles of evidence that support the negative? All the while keeping faith that while I may not understand, while I can’t explain, nevertheless I hold out that God is all perfect, and therefore everything that comes from God is likewise. Us and this world included.
Faith is an actual thing … I don’t know, but I choose to believe.
Identifying self ‘I’m a fallen soul/a sinner’ being simply a character role play adventure facilitating experience of redemption, forgiveness and mercy. The cast of players includes those who consider themselves fallen and those who consider others fallen (to fill the role of preacher/saviour). Let me imagine I’ve offended God, rebelled against God … don’t know where, don’t know when, but I’ll believe it anyway. It might not be true, but anyway it sets the stage for a beautiful experiential adventure no doubt. Perhaps not an adventure I wish to take part in (any more) … but why would I deny others their divine prerogative to do so?
Do you believe in sin?
