I propose that we are always perfect. Perfect and prefectly situated. Seeming imperfection is always the result of erroneous assumption as to who we are and what we are about. After all we are part of God. We are God in that sense. So how could it be otherwise?

Consider for a moment the case of Dorothy, the sweet and innocent young girl who gets lost in a storm, survives miraculously … only to be pursued by a nightmarish green skinned woman and an army of flying monkeys … wait a minute, isn’t that a film? … 😉

My point is that the plight of Dorothy is not at all what it seems. It is simply contrived to deliver emotional gratification to the viewer of the film. That enjoyment – a mixture of excitement, happiness and anxiety for a child watching Wizard of Oz for the first time – may be a tangible experience, yet the truth of the matter is that there is no plight for Dorothy at any time. She is always perfectly situated as an actress, doing a great job and making a good living. Neither is she a little girl. Judy Garland was actually 16/17 years old at the time of filming!

Taking this idea to another level, our lives themselves are like movies … albeit a mixture of genres … horror, romance, action adventure, true-life etc. We may be absorbed in enjoying the show, sometimes making seemingly right other times wrong decisions, sometime choosing darkness, sometime light, and so on … but at the end of the day we are just like Dorothy … completely aloof from it and doing a great job.

How are we doing a great job? Regardless of our plot, we are always contributing to the ever expanding Completeness of God. At least that is what I believe!
